Autumn Skincare

Ahhh Autumn -a special time of year when the leaves change to fire-reds, oranges, and yellows.  There is a snap of chill in the air and it is the perfect time to pull out the cozy sweaters, build the first fire in the fireplace in many places.   In the north-west where we are, the intense Summer heat will fade and the days will become rather pleasant!

There is something you may not have considered about the season, though - it is extremely important to change your skincare routine during the Autumn months.

Products you used during the summer months won’t provide the same results in Autumn.  As the moisture in the air decreases, look to nourish your skin because the Autumn months almost always bring along drier air.

Moisturiser becomes very important for a couple of reasons.  As the air dries, your skin will become dull and lifeless.  Autumn is the gateway to winter when the air will become extremely dry.  You need to prep your skin for the coming cold months and that means using a good moisturiser now.

Another reason to keep your skin nourished during Autumn is the wind.  Cooler, drier air along with the Autumn breezes can result chapped skin that is flushed, damaged, and even drier.  Unless you want your skin to peel and look damaged, you do need to choose a quality moisturiser.

This applies to you no matter your age and situation.  Whether you are a young adult with oily or acne prone skin or you are in your forties and your skin has started drying and aging – the right moisturiser is simply a must.  Simply choose the right one for your skin type.

Autumn is one of the most beautiful times of the year.  There is something to that cool feel in the air and the changing leaves that enchants us all.

Keep in mind that you still need to take care of your skin specifically for the season and that means choosing a very good quality moisturiser for the best results.
